Meeting format

Our general meetings are always free and open to the public and feature a “Babywearing 101” demo covering safety information and carrier types about 15 minutes after the posted start time.  If we have a smaller group, we will offer small group instruction instead.  The lending library is always available at these meetings for attendees to browse and for member check out.  And of course we are happy to help you with your carrier!

Our outreach demos are also free and open to the public.  These meeting are “demo only” and feature a more extensive version of our “Babywearing 101” presentation.  They are geared for those new to babywearing, particularly those with newborns or who are expecting.  The lending library will not be available at these events although we are happy to help you with your carrier.

We occasionally offer workshops for a small fee; we also offer private consultations.

Events are cross-listed to our Facebook page; meeting announcements and schedule changes will be posted there.

Our meetings are run by volunteer educators accredited by Babywearing International.  You can read more about our leadership team here.  We are always looking for good volunteers; let us know at a meeting if you are interested!


We welcome any caregiver interested in learning more about babywearing at our events!  While many attendees are mamas, we also welcome dads, grandparents, and other caregivers.

Children of all ages are welcome to attend meetings.  We ask that you are mindful of your children and help us to keep our meeting spaces clean and tidy; we are provided meeting space for free by our generous locations – we want to respect that!

Please feel free to feed your babies!  Snacks for older children may be eaten in designated areas; please be mindful and monitor snack eating, particularly with high allergen foods.  We also ask that you avoid meetings if you or your children are showing symptoms of illness.

Current Meeting Locations:

Check out the calendar below for meeting times and dates!  We currently run 3 meetings a month at the following locations:

Musical Folk Hamden Studio:  3496 Whitney Ave, Hamden, Connecticut 06518 – The studio is above People’s United Bank. Step into the bank lobby, then take the stairs to your left. Go through the door at the top of the stairs, then follow the corridor all the way back to Musical Folk’s studio on the right.

Musical Folk Woodbridge Studio:  24 Selden Street, Woodbridge, CT – The studio is in Selden Plaza. Look for Amity Bowling at one end and the Woodbridge Social Club at the other.

Naugatuck YMCA284 Church Street, Naugatuck, CT – Parking is on the street and side streets. There is a handicapped-accessible entrance to the right of the main entrance. Once inside look for the first door on the left across from the front desk.

Guilford Firehouse Community Room:  390 Church Street, Guilford, CT – Park in front of the firehouse (past the police station).  The community room will be down the hall to your left as you enter.
